Where it all began
Established in 1990, Random Harvest’s core business began as the growing of indigenous plants. This was with a view to increasing biodiversity in urban areas. The plants provide food, shelter and habitat for urban wildlife, encouraging them to co-exist with people in urban and suburban areas.
Creating green space in an urban area was not only with wildlife in mind, but also for people to get close to and reconnect with nature.
A few years later, the Self-Catering Cottage Accommodation opened for bookings when a need was identified for comfortable, quality, affordable overnight accommodation close to but out of the bustle of the City of Johannesburg.
