Whether you're staying in one of our self-catering chalets in Muldersdrift or simply visiting for the day, our aim is for everyone to leave with lasting memories, feeling happy, peaceful, relaxed, and rejuvenated.

A variety of regular events, including birdwatching, coffee mornings, retreats, and gardening courses, means there is something for everyone to enjoy. You can arrive for the start time in the morning, having had a chance to explore your surroundings and immerse yourself in the countryside charm.

Birdwatching Walks

Birdwatching walks happen once a month with experienced bird guides. Their extensive knowledge of indigenous birds makes these walks interesting and worthwhile. Relax and chat about your bird sightings over a delicious buffet breakfast (included in the cost of the event) afterward.

Birdwatching walks need to be booked in advance to reserve your spot. It is a good idea to book as soon as you can. You can book with our marketing or events team using the following contact details: Phone: 082 553 0598, 066 587 3143, or 011 957 5356. Alternatively, you can send an email to [email protected] or [email protected].

Coffee Mornings

Coffee mornings are on the first Wednesday of each month. Fascinating topics, such as insect hotels, indigenous security hedges, making your garden more bird-friendly, and indigenous flower arrangements, make for an informative morning where one always comes away with lots to think about or inspiration to try new projects or indigenous plants in your own garden. Coffee mornings do not require pre-booking, but a nominal fee towards our food-for-the-impoverished program will secure your seat. These mornings finish just in time for a mouthwatering lunch in the tea garden and a browse through the retail area for indigenous plants to take home with you.

Gardening Workshops

If you are signed up to attend a Gardening workshop with Lindsay Gray’s School of Garden Design, this is a great way to get added inspiration. Before or after the class, you can wander around the beautiful gardens, soaking up the peaceful surroundings and gathering loads of inspiration for planting up your own garden. Our helpful nursery staff are on hand to locate plants for you and help with plant selection. You can contact Lindsay Gray to find out more about her workshops at Random Harvest Nursery this year.

Journey Tree Workshops and Retreats

A recent addition to our regular event offerings is the Journey Tree’s workshops and retreats. They are truly emancipating and a wonderful way to reset before facing the real world again. Jana can be contacted directly for more information or to make a booking at [email protected] or WhatsApp at 076 329 8692.
